"Youtube has no ethnics, it's been created for the sole purpose of entertainment and money." Do you agree?

I agree to a large extent that Youtube has no ethnics and it sole purpose is just to provide entertainment and money. The internet is an international phenomenon and while technology can bring great opportunity and access to information globally, it can also present new and unique cultural challenges. Youtube main purpose was to allow illegal copying although the law has increase criminal penalties for online copyright infringement.

Firstly, Youtube has no ethnics becauseit allow anything that may violate the religious law or country's law to be shown worldwide. For instance, recently there is a contentions film showing feet being placed over the Thai King's face-an offensive act to thais, who consider feet dirty. This is a serious case of less majeste and this crime offends the country's monarchy. As a result, Thai government asked Youtube's owner Google to remove it. However, they declined. Hence, the minis asked for the access to Youtube to be reinstated once the film had been removed.

Secondly, Youtube has been created to provide entertainment because it allows all surfs of video to be aired worldwide. It seeks to promote creativity and disseminate information. It enable the freedom of one ot put up any videos. Some of these videos indeed help one to become famous. It can be used as a source of promoting one's self. In this way, there is no need to waste money on advertisement. However, the online video clips can spread inacurate information. For example, an autism researcher says she viewss lay stes for medical infomation with scepticism as they can be very helpful in providing support, but can be very misleading in the information they give about new therapies. This comes to show that Youtube can only be used for entertainment. It cannot be treated as a reliable source. Additionally, we can watch any videos on the site without downloading any software or even registering. This saves money as well as the trouble.

Thirdly, Youtube's sole purpose was also for money. Many advertisers want to be on Youtube, which is why Google paid $1.65 billion for it.

On the other hand, we cannot assure Youtube's main purpose was for money as Chad and Steve were selling Youtube for $1.65billion even though they may know that they may be able to earn more if 10% of the $54 billion was spent on TV advertising annually migrates to video sites like Youtube in the next few years. This partly shows that they are not money minded. the reason for them selling Youtube to Google may not be due to money but probably for some other reasons. In addition, Youtube may have some ethnics in which they abide to. However, their ethnics may not be as strict. the degree of discipline to them may be different from us. Lastly, Youtube also provide sources in terms of healthcare and educaton materials. In this case, Youtube need not be used just for entertainment.

In conclusion, i feel that Youtube's main purpose is just to provide enjoyment and Chad and Steve sold Youtube mainly for the high price Google offers. Lastly, some information provided may violated certain laws as everyone ha the freedom to upload anything they want

Introduction

I am Ivy Ang Cui Yuan from 16/07.You can call me Ivy instead.I was in Northland secondary schoolpreviously.I am a sporty person.Hence,I chose Netball and Track and Field as my CCA last time.Due to my loss of interest in netball, I decided to continue athletics instead since I already have the foundation.
Basically, during my free time,I will either go online or go out. Television programme does not interest me much except for some drama series as I have tried to kick off that habit since secondary.
In academic wise,I chose this subject combination,S06b, because I have lesser interest in physics due to its complicity.Since I only took double science in 'O' levels,physics and chemistry, I was left with fewer options.As a result,this was the only combination which suit me best.Although economics is a new subject, I have generated interest in it when I try out during the first three months course.Mathematics is the subject I like most as it does not require much memorising while humanities is what I dislike.However, for the sake of gp, I will try to change my mindset about it.
